Our mission

Stockholm Science City Foundation is a supportive and dynamic expertise-based organisation. We facilitate knowledge exchange and stimulate growth. Our mission is to foster science and to encourage that the Hagastaden, Albano and Kräftriket areas are used for scientific research and development.

Our work focuses on strengthening the attactive environment for life science activities in and around the new city district Hagastaden.

We aim to:

  • enhance the cooperation between healthcare providers, industry and academia to accelerate the development of new research findings and innovation
  • identify and create opportunities for interdisciplinary collaborations between the universities
  • attract academia and industry within life science to Hagastaden

The Foundation arranges seminars and organizes meetings between actors from the life science industry and academia, and serve as a link between healthcare, industry and academia. We work closely with other stakeholders and actors working with the development of Hagastaden

Our main financial contributors are three leading universities in Stockholm - Karolinska Institutet, KTH Royal Institute of Technology and Stockholm University as well as the Stockholm County Council and the Cities of Stockholm and Solna.
