Breakfast seminar May 18: the present and future of the U.S. e-health market

18 May 07:30 - 18 May 09:00

On May 18th, come and learn about the present and future of the U.S. e-health market, and what opportunities are available for Swedish companies to grow and expand in the U.S.

The U.S. e-health market is growing rapidly, and is projected to reach 308 Billion USD by 2022. Growth is strong particularly in areas of telehealth and mobile health, as an aging population combined with rising health care costs are growing the demand for technology and new solutions in the traditionally rigid U.S. healthcare system. Additionally, Affordable Health Care Act reforms and the effort to repeal have left many wondering what exactly the U.S. healthcare system will look like beyond the next ten years.

Sweden is among the top five countries globally in terms of patents per capita, with Malmö and Stockholm as the top areas of innovation. With world-renowned medical and life science research institutions, Sweden serves as a model for the future of medical technologies, particularly in e-health. Hundreds of Swedish medical device, tele-health, and mobile health companies are currently present in the U.S., and there are many opportunities for others to enter the market as well.

Business Sweden has researched the U.S. e-health market thoroughly by observing, analyzing and interviewing relevant Swedish companies that are active in the U.S., along with American hospitals, clinics and companies, in order to be able to present valuable, actionable insight for Swedish e-health companies interested in entering the market.

Shaun Hundle is project manager at Business Sweden at their offices in San Francisco and he will present the findings in the analysis. In addition, he will also be available after the meeting for additional questions, if this is of interest please send an email to per.lek@ssci.se with a twitter-short introduction about your company and if there is a specific question you have in mind (in English).
