Collective creativity as an engine of innovation - how do Swedish large corporations work?

17 October 13:00 - 17 October 15:00

More and more organizations are working on new ways to use the ideas and creativity of all employees in the innovation process. Several large Swedish companies are in the forefront of this development. They have introduced new tools and approaches to support and simplify the creation, development and implementation of ideas. The idea is that employees should be able to contribute to the profitability and long-term survival by jointly creating and developing ideas that lead to innovation.

The potential of collective idea generation is obvious. But how can the process be controlled? Jennie Björk and Magnus Karlsson's research and experience show that traditional models of management and organization are not sufficient. Their lecture is based on two examples of collective idea generation. One from Ericsson and their IT-based platform for collective idea management and development, the other from a idea jam at Volvo AB. During the lecture, they will answer questions such as:
  • How do you get started with a collaborative innovation work?
  • What's in it for the company with such processes?
  • How to tackle key factors and challenges along the way?
When: Monday, October 17th 2016 at 13.00-15.00
Where: Bryggarsalen, Brygghuset, Norrtullsgatan 12N, Stockholm
Speaker: Associate Professor Jennie Björk, KTH and Magnus Karlsson, Adjunct Professor at KTH and Director Innovation Management, Ericsson
