Hagastaden – a great place for life science

16 June 08:45 - 16 June 10:00

Welcome to a seminar that focuses on Hagastaden, the new city district emerging between the City of Stockholm and the City of Solna. Today, Hagastaden gathers some 140 life science companies and organisations.

During the last couple of years S:t Eriks Eye Hospital has moved into the area and Campus Solna has opened up for more tenants from industry. As a result, Hagastaden has evolved into a vibrant cluster with a large number of life science stakeholders within a limited geographical area. With a unique location close to the city centre and within walking distance to four distinguished universities and in addition home to a world renown hospital, Karolinska University Hospital, Hagastaden is a knowledge hub.

During the seminar you will get an update about Hagastaden from the life science perspective by Filippa Kull, Business Developent Director at Stockholm Science City. You will also learn more from the experiences of Niclas Roxhed, associate professor at KTH and director of MedTechLabs, an interdisciplinary centre for medical technology research located in Hagastaden. Niclas is also affiliated with MIT in Boston, USA, and co-founder of several start-ups.

The seminar ends with a panel discussion focusing on Hagastaden and the possibilities the cluster brings for companies and organisations within life science. In the panel, Niclas and Filippa will be joined by Jesper Ericsson, CEO of the Swedish biotech company Symcel, and Jenny Riazzoli, Therapeutic Area Lead, Respiratory & Immunology at the global company AstraZeneca, who recently moved parts of their operations into new offices in Hagastaden.

The seminar will be held in English and will not be live streamed. Take the chans to extend your network and meet up with new people!
