On May 27th, the final seminar for ArtResLab Hagastaden was held. Stockholm Science City was there and got the opportunity to ask one of the artists – Juan Pedro Fabra Guemberena a few questions just before the exhibition of models opened.
Hello Juan Pedro, what are you presenting today?
– I am presenting a draft for a public art work.
Where is this art work supposed to be placed?
– It is supposed to be in Hagaplan – which is a virtual space – it doesn´t exist yet. I have used the fact that the space is not yet built – the work is a video that follows the development of this place.
Why this piece – what are your thoughts behind the work?
– It is to reflect on memory, trauma and different strategies to tell a story. For instance, the fact that I am able to film the development of this new public space – that compiles material will present a whole story. It will be a story of how a place can develop, and in this case, a very dramatic change.
What is the next step?
– Hopefully, this is the first part in the developing of proper blue print for this place.
