On September 14 and 15, the 4th annual Nordic Life Science Days takes place in Stockholm. The meeting gather investors, life science companies and academia. We got a chance to ask Olivier Duchamp, Managing Director of Nordic Life Science Days a few questions.
Hello Olivier, Nordic Life Science Days 2016 is coming closer - how is it going with the preparations?
So far so good! We have just released our conference program and we are really happy present great people coming from all over the world to speak at NLSDays. About numbers, we are ahead on schedule regarding registrations compared to last year and almost sold-out on company presentations and exhibition space.
Could you tell us something about the program?
This year we will a special focus on Oncology, hosting 3 Super Sessions developed in cooperation with Oslo Cancer Cluster. We will also talk a lot about innovation in various domains, in deal-making, in healthcare systems, in investments,...
What’s not to miss this year?
I’d like to say don’t miss NLSDays 2016 in general. The event is growing and we are trying to improve the concept and the organization every year. We have worked on some innovations this year in order to improve networking possibilities for all participants and create more interaction between the different conference components.
Where are we heading, what is your vision for the meeting in the future?
The next step for NLSDays is to grow it’s Nordic dimension and for that we’ll probably start to move the event in different Nordic capitals. Being back in Stockholm every two years sounds a realistic objective. We have also a lot to do to educate and train early stage companies and academia on partnering activities so we’ll probably work on a training program or webinars helping companies to get ready for partnering at NLSDays.
Last but not least, what do you wish to accomplish with Nordic Life Science Days 2016?
The initial objective, when we created NLSDays together with SwedenBIO in 2012, was to build a networking and business platform for Nordic life science organizations. After 3 years only, NLSDays is already considered as the largest life science partnering event held in the Nordic region. There are a lot of initiatives around, national or regional events popping-up every single week. We just want to keep our leading role, to be innovative and connected with our ecosystem and deliver the best possible event every year, here in Stockholm, tomorrow in Copenhagen, Oslo or Helsinki.
