Parts of Karolinska university hospital is soon to move

The first steps will be taken during the fall – the new hospital will be fully inaugurated during 2018.

In November, parts of Karolinska university hospital will move to the new hospital building, Eugeniavägen 23, Solna. First up for the move are the pediatric, heart- and lung and thorax clinics. Other parts of the university hospital will move in 2018, when the entire building will be fully completed.

After years of preparation, it is finally time to move into the first part of the new hospital Building. The move means a new address for parts of pediatric care, as well as heart, lung and thoracic operations. The new address is Eugeniavägen 23, Solna.

The hospital building will be one of the world's most sustainable, where advanced care will be carried out integrated with research and education. Our patients are greeted by an environment that puts patient safety, privacy and comfort in the center. For example, all hospital wards are single rooms with private shower and toilet. In the same room there is also a bed where relatives can stay overnight. Supporting features such as radiology, sampling and operation are strategically placed to make sure the patient is in the center.
