The purpose and mission of the Mutation Analysis core facility (MAF) at Karolinska Universitetssjukhuset is to help scientists at Karolinska Institutet, its associated hospitals, and other academic institutions to perform genetic, epigenetic and genetic-epidemiological research in order to identify and assess genetic factors involved in different disease processes. The number of analyzes have consistently risen and MAF has now analyzed more than 400 000 samples since the start in 2003. For the first time MAF has now received a grant from Vinnova and we had the opportunity to ask some questions to Kristina Duvefelt, section manager at MAF and also the project manager for the project that received funding.
