On June 29-30 the 1st EuroScience Policy Forum took place. At the forum, important questions related to the changes in societal expectations on academic institutions and new pathways to a more sustainable academia were discussed.
The forum was supported by Stockholm Science City and the Swedish Research Council and arranged by EuroScience in cooperation the Wellcome Trust, the University of Vienna and the Stockholm Trio University Alliance – the alliance between Karolinska Institutet, KTH and Stockholm University to promote the strong international research and educational environment in Stockholm. The topics of the forum included the role of academia to reach the sustainable development goals, the implementation of academic research in societal development and the need of accessible data for different types of research.
