Mathias Uhlén, Professor of microbiology at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), has led the work with the protein atlas which was launched on November 6.
- This is basic science – it is a foundation for future research on human biology and disease, says Mathias Uhlén.
The web based atlas is public. It contains over 13 million pictures of human proteins in different organs and pathologies. Today, the average number of peer reviewed research papers published with information from the protein atlas is two per day.
