Just over 50% of all life science companies and employees in Sweden are based in the Stockholm–Uppsala region. Use the map to locate them! You can filter by company name, sector (Biotech, Medtech, Pharmaceutical, or Service), and business category (Manufacturing, Marketing & Sales, or Research & Development). You can also zoom in to explore specific geographic areas in more detail. Most companies have fewer than 10 employees – a fact that influences their needs for office and lab spaces.
The life science map is fantastic! It is an easy, interactive, and comprehensive tool. I use it to show students how big, robust, and active the life science sector is here.
The company data is sourced from STUNS Insight Machine, which retrieves figures from Proff.se. We base our work on Vinnova’s national statistics and update the map regularly. The map includes limited companies (aktiebolag) in the life science sector that have a listed visiting address.
