New Eye Research Leads to Tomorrow’s Innovations
Research on the eye, combined with rapid technological development, is opening new possibilities. At St. Erik Eye Hospital in Region Stockholm, not only are new treatments for eye diseases being developed, but the eye also serves as a window into other parts of the body. Eye movements can provide valuable information about various neurological disorders.

Infrastructure for drug development in Stockholm – future technologies in imaging and radiopharmacy
In drug development today, advanced imaging techniques are used to gain insights into how pharmaceuticals work in the body. In Stockholm, Karolinska University Hospital, Karolinska Institutet, and Region Stockholm have jointly established the Centre for Imaging Research (CIR), which provides facilities and expertise in clinical research for industry, healthcare, and academia.
