St Erik Eye Hospital and Karolinska Institutet together form Sweden’s most comprehensive center for eye and vision research, with extensive experience in conducting both academic and industry-sponsored clinical studies. The close integration of clinical care and advanced research enables new knowledge and discoveries to be translated more rapidly into patient care, while providing researchers with valuable opportunities to collect clinical data.

Researchers from St Erik Eye Hospital and Karolinska Institutet will explore Nobel Prize-winning discoveries about the eye and vision, and explain how these breakthroughs continue to influence eye care and could benefit your vision in the future.

New treatments often improve patients’ quality of life, but their benefits may extend far beyond the individual patient. Effective treatments can reduce sick leave, improve productivity, and make healthcare delivery more efficient. In some cases, innovation can also generate wider societal value through the growth of companies, new investments and jobs. With advances in methodologies and access to more data, the societal values could be better assessed.

The 11th November, we will host a seminar on food preparedness and resilient food systems together with Karolinska Institutet, KTH Royal Institute of Technology and Stockholm University. Further information regarding venue and programme will be announced later on.
