Capital of Life moves from strategy to action
The Stockholm–Uppsala region has set its sights on becoming one of the world's leading life science hubs. That ambition took centre stage when several hundred representatives from healthcare, academia, industry and the public sector gathered for the conference Capital of Life – From Strategy to Action. The message was clear: stronger collaboration, faster adoption of innovation and a stronger international profile are essential to enhancing the region's global competitiveness.

The Capital of Life initiative was launched in 2024 by Region Stockholm and Region Uppsala to strengthen the Stockholm-Uppsala life science ecosystem – already one of Europe's most dynamic. Through a shared strategy, the two regions aim to create the conditions needed for the region to become one of the world's foremost life science clusters. The conference marked the transition from strategy to implementation, with a strong focus on turning ambition into tangible action.
