The EU aims to become the most attractive location for life sciences by 2030 – but is this a leadership strategy?

At the beginning of the summer, the long-awaited life science strategy from the European Commission was released. At the Stockholm Region EU Office, it’s always particularly exciting when Brussels takes on an area where we are at the forefront.

This time, the objective is anything but modest: the EU is to become the world’s most attractive place for life sciences by 2030. That sounds great, but as I read the strategy, one thing strikes me — I find it difficult to see how we will know if we succeed.
