Knowledge for a Resilient Society
Sweden is facing a number of complex societal challenges. A changing geopolitical environment, climate change, and rapid technological development, among others, are placing new demands on society’s preparedness and long-term resilience. Addressing these challenges requires knowledge, innovation, and close collaboration between researchers, policymakers and society.
Against this backdrop, Stockholm Science City, together with Karolinska Institutet, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, and Stockholm University, has launched the seminar series Preparedness – Knowledge for a Resilient Society. The series highlights research that contributes to strengthening Sweden’s resilience and provides a platform for dialogue between researchers, policymakers, public authorities, industry representatives, and other societal stakeholders.
Each seminar focuses on a current preparedness-related theme and explores how research can help us understand risks, develop solutions, and strengthen society’s capacity to manage a wide range of crises. Through research presentations and discussions with decision-makers, the series creates an arena for knowledge exchange, dialogue, and new perspectives.
The seminar series is aimed at policymakers, government agencies, industry representatives, and other stakeholders working on issues that shape Sweden’s future. Its purpose is to strengthen the link between research and societal development, and to demonstrate how research can help address some of the most pressing challenges of our time.
