Madeleine Durbeej-Hjalt is the secretary general for medicine and health at the Swedish Research Council since a couple of years. Here she talks about the Scientific council's most important recommendations and why free basic research is so important.
Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products are biological pharmaceuticals based on cells, tissue, or genes. These pharmaceuticals are considered to be a very important part of future healthcare. Often it’s a one-time treatment where seriously ill patients are can be cured, hopefully with a lifelong effect. During this panel discussion we will talk about where we stand today, which challenges remain to be solved and what the future opportunities are.
